About The Flip Flop Mamma

Hi Everyone, my name is Lindsay and I'm 32 years old and this is my first time blogging.  I'm not sure where to start so I will give you a little bit about myself.

I have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl (he is a little over 2 years and she is now 6 months) and they are the love of my life, well aside from my husband. I'm a stay at home mom, but as I'm sure most of you mothers out there know that is NOT an easy job. It's hard enough to take care of one baby but being outnumbered with two is definitely difficult. I always try to make sure to take a little bit of time to take care of myself though.

After I had my daughter I gained a lot of weight (I was up to 230 pounds at just 5'3") and after reading some good weight loss advice on nutrition.gov I decided to make a change toward a more healthy lifestyle.  I started dieting on the Medifast plan because I really liked the studies that were done on it and have since slimmed down to a more manageable 170 pounds and I have since joined a yoga class, started eating organic and try to make sure my kids get out and get a lot of fresh air whenever possible.

Aside from my family I love to read (Jan Karon is my FAVORITE!), I love being outdoors camping, riding bikes or hiking, and I love to eat foods that I know are just terrible for me (see the weight gain section above haha).

I have a tendency to wear flip flops wherever I go and because of it my friends always called me the flip flop mamma.  The truth is that my feet got so fat during pregnancy that I couldn’t wear shoes, but it turned out to be a blessing because I love wearing flip flops around… it’s soooo comfortable!

Anyway I look forward to blogging here about my family, my diet, my healthy lifestyle and anything else that crosses my mind. I hope you will all leave comments (please only nice ones ok?) and encourage me along because this is my first time doing something like this.

Anyway look forward to our adventures to come!

  1. Hi Lindsay; I'm a writer myself and I stumbled upon your blog. I felt bad no one took the time to post anything in response. I'm an author of a novel and I know how it is to have lack of response. It hurts a bit but in the writing game you can't be too sensitive.
I'm glad for you that your health is better nowadays. Continued success with that. And don't give up on your blog. It takes time to get these things going.
I hope you didn't mind me posting.
From one writer to another, Cheers, Chris
